Resources & Knitting Patterns
Resources
There are so many resources online for knitting help and knowledge. Here are a few that we recommend, especially for beginners!
TECHNIQUE HELP
Knittinghelp.com, especially their video for beginning knitters.
RowHouseYarn.com: Great learn to knit videos
VeryPink.com: The slow motion knit stitch video is particularly helpful
Simple-Knitting.com: Simple instructions for beginners
CraftYarnCouncil.com: Shares industry standards and perspectives on knitting
COMMUNITY
Some knitters follow knitting podcasts or blogs, join knitting groups in their communities or on social media such as Facebook, or post photos of their projects on Instagram.
We've got a list of local knitting groups (please double check that the times and days are accurate!)
Two good websites you can start with are:
Knitter's Review: Free, you can browse without joining; reviews of yarn and tools, databases of yarns, patterns and projects.
Ravelry: Free, you must join to browse; discover patterns, groups, forums and more!
Free Project Knitwell Patterns
Knit entirely in garter stitch, these 6 super simple patterns can be knit in multiple sizes and yarn weights. Thanks to Shelli Martinez (www.shellican.com) for the design work!
If you enjoy our patterns, we hope you will consider making a donation to Project Knitwell to support our work using knitting as a wellness tool with patients, caregivers, at-risk youth, those affected by homelessness, and others facing stressful situations.
